Somehow the formatting in the project descriptions has stopped working. See for example: https://hackaday.io/project/202928-diy-portrait-mode-gamepad
Hi, Richard, any update on this? It seems to affect all projects.
As a newly signed up .io user, it’s easy to get the impression that everything here is stale.
The home page defaults to ”my feed” which currently features the 2019 "Hackaday.io - Capture & Log Mobile App”.
The ”project you might like” features
Hackaday SuperConference 2015,
2017: A Year of Hacking, the 2016 EMF Camp, and so on.
I guess this is old news to everyone :)
This can happen if you only follow, https://hackaday.io/hackadayrobot , we are refreshing the onboarding experience to help people find more projects/profiles to follow initially based on interests. Not sure if you missed that screen or just didn't select anything.
We could probably show the global feed to new signups that aren't following enough to fill the "my feed," https://hackaday.io/feed
Message I just received from: https://hackaday.io/Clementkwok
My name is Clement Kwok, Independent Non-Executive Director. I am reaching out regarding a business proposal of mutual interest connected to Hang Seng Bank Hong Kong.

Yeah got one too from that scammer. Blocked and reported them.
Can I save a project somehow so i can return to it later? Either a download or a PDF of the project would be good. It's hard to find some of these projects later on.
Pasting of images into log entries is broken? When I paste an image it disappears after a few seconds and is replaced with a "broken image" symbol.
It's been like that for awhile hasn't it? I had this issue a year or two ago, and ever since I've been been uploading them instead of pasting (i.e. image -> Upload -> Choose Files).
I may have suppressed that thought. Anyways, that was a really cool feature that reduction friction quite a bit.
The 'broken' icon also appears sometimes when I upload an image. Some images upload just right, others don't. After a while the 'broken' image is there. Do you have any AI content check on the images that postpone the appearance of the image until it have verified against evil content ?
lol no, its just the image server/cdn being slow sometimes
Yes, this is really frustrating — image pasting just doesn’t work. Please fix it.
When a comment is published on the Global Feed, and it overflows the summary limit, the "more" and "View all comments" links are different, and the former leads nowhere, returing the lost in space robot error page.
Hello, I am also having image issues.
I tried uploading images to my project from two different computer, on different web browsers, but all I am getting is black images on the screen.
Hey I've messaged operations people, its probably a cdn "display" issue, the images should be uploaded and appear when they correct whats going on.
They resolved the issue and are discussing some improvements to avoid it from happening again.
Hello, at the moment I have no chance to upload a picture. Of course I checked size and file format. No chance, neither project gallery nor project log. No picture. Am I the only one with this problem? If a upload a picture in the gallery I see a black backgound, if I upload a picture (and I tried a lot of different pictures) I see a small symbol and no picture.
I'm not seeing an issue right now uploading, which of your projects or logs shows the black or small symbol in place of the image?
Thanks for your fast respone, it is working fine today. May be I am a little bit impatient sometimes.
HI there
My project 'view' count seems to be stuck at 890, is this normal and will it update ?
I know people have been visiting the past week so I would have thought the view count would have updated.

Thanks in advance

Hello Hackaday team! My project views counter doesn't move while people continue subscribing to it and leave comments.
Yes, problem has been fixed. Thank you very much for your support.
I started a new project on Hackaday. I have several keywords to facilitate searching for it, but it doesn't show up in any search results. It's been quite a few days since I started it: https://hackaday.io/project/203296-a-slimmer-10x-100mhz-differential-probe. Any thoughts on what the problem could be? My other (older) project shows up properly when I search for "Differential Probe".
Slimmer is now showing in search. There was an intermittent search data ingestion issue that was cleaned up and newish projects should be searchable again.
You can't change the email address on a hackaday account you login to with Github without a password. You can't reset the password without access to email address hackaday has. If you remove the email address with Github it doesn't update hackaday. How do you change the email address?
Use this link to set a password, https://hackaday.io/forgotpass
Then you should be able to update the email using the new password set.
I've been trying to recreate it locally but no luck, might have more info tomorrow after digging through logs.
Hmm it comes and goes. Now it works on my mobile browser but who knows what it'll be like on the desktop browser later.
Works for me now. Hope the bug has been squashed for everybody. 🤞
Same as Hsingai, my project page opens with Chrome on Windows, but on a Raspberry Pi and also on my Android phone its says:
TypeError: bla bla
URL.canParse is not a function
im getting an error tjat `URL.canParse is not a function` on several pages on my laprop swnding this from my phone check yout wnail for details
adding pictures to project logs doesn't work. I tried many images and there seems to be an image with CDN storing images. My images are small (100K) and png. so they should work.
They are working but I have seen some delay from when an image is selected and saved to when it is available on cdn. I'll reach out to operations and see what they can do.
Could the system please be fixed so project titles can include apostrophe and be shown correctly and not like ' ? It looks stupid.
I was looking at one of my projects today and noticed two usernames that I don't recognize were added to my 'Team' list for my project page. So there were 3 members of my team, myself and these two others. I took a screen shot, and then deleted them. Was my Hackaday account hacked? Who do I report this to in order that someone at Hackaday is aware.
The log page https://hackaday.io/project/7431-the-kicad-central/log/24103-kicad-links contains a link to kicad-pcb dot org which is not an official domain, owned by a non-KiCad entity, and could conceiveably host malware. It should be changed to the official site: https://www.kicad.org
