The GPS-Shied has a cellular chipset that provides standalone GPS capabilities along with an integrated TCP/IP stack. In addition to the cellular chipset, I have added a 3-axis Accelerometer so that your projects can acquire motion data. The integrated TCP/IP stack only requires simple AT commands to establish connectivity for your projects and I have written a driver to handle the UART communication for both Arduino and Netduino. This project helps simplifies development and minimizes the time it will take for almost any project that you can dream up that requires data and/or voice communication capabilities. Future plans are to put a full gyro on the PCB along with stm32 microcontroller so that the Arduino or Netduino is not required.
