Hello pixels

A project log for neopixel clock

An excuse to play with neopixels, a real time clock, maybe temperature sensor and other bells.

Had a few hours today, so did basic Hellos for the trinket, then 12 led ring running off usb power, then both rings running off external 5v. Initially forgot to connect ground to trinket and got unpredictable results rom the chained rings, once I'd done that, all is good.

They are super bright, like everyone says. Next tasks are to work out how to lower brightness, power trinket from same supply (currently usb), play with some ideas for displaying time and get the RTC hooked up.

Another mode to think about - fake TV holiday mode, for when you are away, a few hours of random colours to simulate a TV set.

Thanks for the follows and skulls BTW, only started logging this project here as a todo list really, but any interest is appreciated. I did get a little distracted setting up a brew bucket with temp sensor and heater, that's running well now. Means I can now control the fermentation of my beer via wifi :)

Not much to show daveDarko, my brother made it for me as a clone of one he'd made for himself.

It's a heat belt, relay, temp probe and raspberry pi.
Once a minute it read the temp of the brew and decides whether to turn the heater on or off.
Logs everything to a webpage that graphs progress and allows for setting a target temp.
Not my code or hardware, but definitely my beer :)
