Homebrew gameboy cartridge

Homebrew cartridge

Similar projects worth following
I know that many homebrew cartridges for gameboy already exist but i wanted to make mine so here it is.

Originally the idea is coming from a homebrew game i received "Super connard" who was using a 27VF256 eeprom.

As said this is based on this cartridge:

Please note that the DIP is soldered like if it was a surface mount, eeprom legs are trimmed off making the bottom surface of the board flat, like that it can fit in the shell.

To program my eeproms i'm using this willem programmer:

Produced PCB:

eeprom filled with ROMs:

DCS mean Dual Crew & Shining the ROM is this menu: http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=16760

Would this work with a 5V EEPROM with the samd pinout? I saw the pinout in this project used a 2.7-3.6v EEPROM, but i can't find it anywhere online, just the 5v version.

Hello my friends, how are you? I am a new user of the site and would like to make my homebrew cartridge for game boy. Could you tell me where I can find the pcb boards to place the eeproms? I can not find where to find the pcbs to buy. Is there a specific pcb model to buy? Thanks in advance!!

Recently had the weirdest impulse to write a Cookie Clicker clone for Gameboy. This is a sign.

I have a question. You use a 27VF256 eeprom. Can I use other eeprom? If not, when can I found 27VF256 eeproms?

Thank you! ;-)

You should be able to use any 27C256-esque EPROM (since they have the same pinouts), but just make sure it will sit low enough on the PCB so the cart shell can close.

I definitely need to hear more about this :) How do you program them? I designed a board with an Atmel EEPROM on, but was not ready to order the boards yet. Any tips like "I wish I thought of that before / had done this better" ? Are you also coding game boy stuff?
