I wanted a new keycap for my mechanical keyboard, specifically something cute like Sanrio-themed, but I couldn't find any on the interwebs. So I decided to try and make something simple like a Hello Kitty keycap. I found a Cherry MX keycap STL file from Thingiverse and used Tinkercad to build a Hello Kitty face on top of it.

1 × Gold 1.75mm PLA Filament
1 × Cura 3D printing software
1 × Octoprint To make 3D printer wireless
1 × Tinkercad 3D CAD design tool

I used a Bukito Portable 3D Printer and Gold 1.75mm PLA Filament.

Here are some of the settings I used in Cura:

The printer profile settings .ini file and the 3D .stl file can be found in my github repo.
I think it came out pretty well for a first-time print! I really love this printer! I might have to redo the hole part at the bottom and modify the .stl file a bit, as the key doesn't go all the way down. But wow, I am happy and impressed with the detail for a first-time print!

First, I looked for a basic Cherry MX keycap on thingiverse and worked off of that. Then I used Tinkercad to add on a Hello Kitty head on top of it.
