Electric motorcycle... E-Tracer clone.

I'm not dropping $100k on an electric motorcycle. I want to combine this product with my motorcycle HUD project

Not at the moment, I've been drawing a few things here and there, but at the moment I'm not financially able to begin the full fledged project. I'll try posting some 3d models soon though.

do you have any idea what your going to use for motor/esc/battery. Also, are you planning on making your own frame or using a existing frame?

For whatever reason i couldnt reply to your earlier comment. Anyway, 1, Motor - something brushed, not sure what, maybe a small forklift motor. Esc - for the size of this motorcycle i think there will be something able to handle it, so i'll purchase one. battery will be custom built from a bunch of lipo cells. The frame will have to be custom to accomodate for the batteries. I will probably make it out of steel so i can weld it.

So i was having the same idea, builing a e-motorcycle. Can you tell me why you chose for a brushed motor, i was thinking a 8kw hub motor for qsmotor.com, or would that be to expencive? howmany kw are you aiming for? also, why do you plan on builing your own frame, wouldn't it be difficult to get it street legal? just wonding and trying to think along..

The initial project is going to be a track only vehicle. so that is why im building a custom frame. I thought about going brushless, but since this isnt going to be the final build i would prefer to go with the cheaper option.

Oh yeah, kW, i'd be looking for something around 10. maybe it would be cheaper for a brushless, but it is fairly easy to get used industrial motors in my area.
