This layout could not have gone more beautifully

A project log for Gummi Worm Clock

I forgot to build something for the Bay Area Maker Faire Bring A Hack event. I started this on April 7th. The Faire is May 16th.

You would expect laying out a board with an RGB seven-segment display would be horrible, right? Nope:

That's an ST LED2472G 24-channel LED driver sitting right underneath the RGB seven-segment LED. That's also a lot of planning to get all the LEDs connected to the driver without any vias or other horrible layout bullshit.

Here's the full view of the board so far:

The size is loosly based off a Raspberry Pi hat. There's a DS3231 RTC on there, four of the segment displays, and two 5mm RGB LEDs for the seconds colon thing.

Now that the LEDs are laid out, the only thing left to do is to connect the data, clock, latch, and OE lines to the Raspi header. Then it's off to OSH Park for rush shipping, and about two weeks of waiting.
