This is the build of a sleek and compact decade resistance and capacitance boxes using 4-way DIP switches. The value selection is pseudo-binary i.e instead of having 8-4-2-1 for every decade value, it is 4-2-2-1 since we only need to go up to 9. Following are the ranges:
Resistance -- 10, 100, 1k, 10k, 100k, 1M
Capacitance -- 1n, 10n, 100n, 1u, 10u, 100u
The connection terminals are standard binding posts at the standard spacing of 0.75 inches.

Needed idea, but watch out for the values of tolerances of each part that could increase the overall tolerances value too much

tolerances too much. Fine tolerances would add expense

Yeah. The tolerances are also ruined because of switch resistances in the path (especially at low resistance ranges). I've got the measured data and will be publishing soon. Switch resistance is not much of a concern for the decade capacitance. But use of electrolytic caps are the main problem there.
