designed a little case

A project log for Ignore this ESP8266 board

I stole from every one. The huzza from Adafruit. Matts breakout board. Al1s board from here. NodeMCUs DevKit.

UPDATE: I've just wasted 10 minutes looking for the files, and now that I've finally found them, I've added them to the file section. It's still not printed - so it is untested!

So while I'm waiting I thought I do a little exercise in 123D Design and make a little round case, that twist locks. Gonna print this sooner or later. 80mm in diameter. 4 screw holes for mounting the pcb and 4 for mounting on whatever you like. Probably should have designed the pcb in sick-of-beige standard. Anyway - had some fun :)

I was also going to ask if the PBC was 5cm square but Al1 bet me to it.

I used Dirty PCB for this board:

http://forums.parallax.com/showthread.php/157981-NonaProp-Inspired-by-TetraProp?p=1304332&viewfull=1#post1304332

I decided I wanted an inexpensive board with a Propeller microcontroller on it. I could get 9 of my small boards on a 10cm squared board.

I thought Dirty PCB did an okay job but when I looked closely at the holes, I found a couple places where the alignment wasn't perfect.

This was the first time I purchased stencils and wow, what a difference stencils make. I don't have anything to compare the stencils against but I thought they looked good. I think the stencils work fine too.

It's always fun to see what you're up to. Thanks for sharing your projects with us.

cool! This twist lock is a good idea. Your PCB is 5cm square?

shipping took 3 weeks. And there was one week for manufacturing before. My boards are a little bit smaller than 5cm. one side is only about 4,5cm.

I thought you were using the sick-of beige sizes? Or am I mixing up projects? So 3 weeks probably means I will have to wait 6 weeks to finally work on them :( I'm off to America in a week for 4 weeks.

No I am not using the sick-of beige sizes, although this would be a good idea. I am also thinking of change the PCB size to fit in this case: http://www.hammondmfg.com/pdf/1551R.pdf

Hm, that's even smaller. 44mm board size is screw center to screw center for me. I'm spoiled, I have a good printer right next to me. SOB is a nice concept, but in the end it's still some acrylic sheets and they're open.
