My description was a bit vague but that's intentional as I don't yet have all the answers. I do know it is entirely possible but will it produce a prototype PCB on par with the best quality currently produced involving the transfer method, if it does, it will do it every time...

The idea is predicated on two assumptions both of which are crucial:

  1. We can print a quality layout on fibreglass using an ink with the right properties...
  2. The process for the second step is common place and is almost certain to work...

I'm currently looking for the ideal ink and have found a good candidates, unfortunately in its current formulation it can't be used in the ink jet print process. I aim to contact the manufacturer as I feel confident that with additional formulation it could prove ideal.

Once we have the ideal ink we can look at the second part of the process...

Incidentally, this is not rocket science, I am simply thinking outside the box...

If you have an interest in this project and have any involvement (or interest in) printing PCB's, drop me a PM... I need to explain the general idea to others and get some feed back...
