Similar projects worth following
Using the reverse engineering work conducted by Danman at https://danman.eu/blog/reverse-engineering-lenkeng-hdmi-over-ip-extender/, a python script was written to capture output from the Lenkeng373 HDMI over IP Extender (http://www.lenkeng.net/home/Index/detail/id/72) to output a decoded stream to TVHeadend (https://tvheadend.org/), which is then made available on a number of Kodi (http://kodi.tv/) terminals

Could one of those $70 android boxes with HDMI input (Tronsmart Pavo M9 4K, etc) be used for to stream video over ethernet? I know tvheadend runs on pure linux, and some Android boxes have android/ubuntu dual boot options (UGOOS UT3+ TV / UT3S, etc), but maybe it's not that easy?
