Please note that this log's data is from the end of may 2015... Lots of prizes have been awarded since then!

I looked at how many prizes projects got.

I pulled information from the prize update thing blog posts from http://hackaday.com.

Then, I mapped that to a table with all the projects and how many prizes they got.

white = 0, green = 1, yellow = 2, orange = 3

This doesn't (yet) differentiate between what projects do or don't actually participate in the prize—it simply displays the prizes per project number.

Let's look at how many projects received prizes!

That total entrants number is the amount of projects with the tag 2015HackadayPrize, not those in the official list thing (which has 379 at the time of writing)

In conclusion:

about 38% of hackaday prize projects got any amount of prizes

about 12% got more than one

about 4% got three (shameless plug: including me!)

I want to do some correlation testing with this versus the skulls / follows of the projects.

Also, please don't expect too many updates—maybe 1 per 2 weeks...

Thanks for reading!
