Description

The bristlebot is nothing more then a toothbrush, a vibrating motor and a battery. The vibrations make the bot move around.

These are fun to make, and quite cheap.

update: I added a snail version of the bristlebot as well, this holder is made for L1154 batteries which are 1,5 volts. This way the bristlebot moves slower, but doesn't fall over as much.

update 2: added a 'turbo' snail model.

Components

1 × Toothbrush one ordinary toothbrush
1 × Vibrating motor I used one ordered from dx.com
1 × 3D printed battery holder source file can be found on http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:280985
1 × CR2032 battery for power
1 × Hotglue to glue the parts together

Step 1

cut the head of a toothbrush

print the battery holder

Step 3

attach the vibration motor to the battery holder and put the 2 leads into the holder block so the battery can touch it.
