A project log for Shortwave Radio Alert

Using an Raspberry Pi connected to a shortwave radio to monitor shortwave activity and produce an alert when there is activity on the radio.

I am thinking that I can reduce the cost by using an Arduino microcontroller instead of a Raspberry Pi. Looking for suggestion and someone to help me with the coding.

One problem I need to address is power.  Any suggestion will be appreciate.  Again I want to make this as small as possible.

So much to learn and so little time.

Looking into building a small case to house the microcontroller so that it can sit next to the radio and not take up much room.

I have ordered a small keyboard (USB) and a small portable car camera monitor for this project for development.
