Recieved a nice DC - DC converter IC from LTC today and realised I have no SOIC adpaters with ground pads !! so had to get creative , I don't recomend this to anyone , especially for Phantom power 48v !! but need to just get on with the design,. so we will see if the copper tape gets enough contact under the chip !!
I also ordered a TI OMAP-L138 Development Kit. for the main mixer.
I decided I have to bite the bullet and learn DSP. The OMAP-L138 is a multicore ARM and DSP prossecor so I can write code on the ARM and hopfully get IO audio mixing done though the mcASP connectors. Lots of painful learning ahead but I think the flexible routing , mixing and possible comression / effects will be worth the pain. There seams to be a nice RTC option too on the board so maybe I can even get timecode happening and who knows !! maybe even multichannel recording onto SSD through the SATA port ,.,. ok , better not get too ahead of myself !! Anyway,
I got the 2 8 channel ADC's wired up and now I'm working on the PGA2500's and RF supression / phantom power protecton on the PRE AMP side.
heres some pics of the terrible DIY pad on the SOIC adpater.. temporary I hope !!!
