Similar projects worth following
This music toy is mean to be an intuitive introduction to basic musical notation. The user can position eight notes on a music staff which are then played back by the toy.

The user can switch between scale or continuous mode. In scale mode, the nearest (C-) scale tone is found for each note and played by the toy. In continuous mode, the pitches are not fixed to an 8-note scale (or even a 12-note scale).

Pre-programmed melodies can also be played by the toy. These melodies are accessed through a simple binary input with the highest (lowest) playable note equal to 1 (0).

The toy is designed to be battery operated with very low power consumption.
