sapirJust placed an order for the project components from lion.co.il (Farnell distributors in Israel), except for the FPC connector itself which isn't in stock, so I ordered it from AliExpress. And except for the PCB itself, which I still have to finish fixing and verifying.
Some of the project's component choices were influenced by stuff not being in stock when I was planning the PCB. Sometimes the components had different footprints, so it influenced the PCB, too.

well I haven't seen the connector yet... I do have solder paste and a hot air gun though (Atten 858D off ebay) so maybe that'll help.
is there an advantage to doing it with another LT1945? it was way more expensive than the 78L15.

No advantage... just a bad choice, haha. I thought it is easier to use two lt1945's. The 78L15 consumes more power, but thats insignificance compared to the total power consumption.

I made my own board with two LT1945 instead of the 78L15's. After soldering all components i started to solder the fpc connector on the pcb. The pins are so small i couldn't solder it with my iron. I'm still looking for a solution to solder the connector to the board. Have you thought about how you are going to solder the fpc connector?
