Easy,
The mouse enters the Trap. Passes the light barrier. Raspberry detects and activates servo motor. Door closes.
Now the Pi takes a Pic and sends it via IM and Mail.
That's it.
How to catch a mouse with a Raspberry Pi?

The trap is not big enough, or not fox compatible :)
I just found A photo of the first mousetrap i've built and a Video of the trap, which brought me on the idea to build a camera in it
The external security cam had a motion detection feature and could send a mail with photos of the mouse in the trap.
My new PCB design for the IR barrier. This one is from Osh Park and is directly connected to the raspberry without the flat cable.
Uploaded all the files @ Github
I think my garage is clean now
And here are the parts, fresh out of the Lasercutter. I think the mice will like the Ferrari Red :)
They cost me 45$
I think I will remove the Ir Barrier, and change to motion detection.
Open CV or my own Script. Will try it out.
My new cad design in Qcad....ready for Lasercut
Testing a new 180degree Wide angel Raspberry pi cam
I could try a few designs virtually to see if everything fits.
To build the housing (350mmx110mm), I used 5mm foamed PVC Sheets.
So, I could use a cutter as CNC machine :) ?
What motor would you suggest for me to use?
