We had this old lamp in a futuristic look but without interior.

As i just bought 1000 self fading rgb leds for "something" and because they where cheap and some copper tape for capacitive touch experiments we tried to solder on a LED on the tape. Worked out great so we decided to look out for something that would fit in the lamp and found the acrylic glass cylinder in our storage.

So the idea started.

  • 3 × M74HC4094B1 Logic ICs / Flip-Flops, Latches, Registers
  • 18 × IRF510 Discrete Semiconductors / Power Transistors and MOSFETs
  • 1 × Copper Tape
  • 700 × Self fading RGP LED
  • 1 × Acrylic glass cylinder

Looks amazing! But what are "Self fading RGP LED"?

Do you more or less rely on fate, that it looks nice?

Thats why i added the mostfet's for each row, to reset them after a given time

The basic idea was to let them fade one itteration then powercycle them to sync them again
or let the fade to complete randomnes and get a white light with the diffusor
