TABBx | 20th Anniversary BeBox

Open Source Hardware and Software project for design a fully funtional scale model of a BeBox to commemorate 20th Anniversary of the release

This project began with an idea for taking a leap on the development of Haiku, an open-source operating system that specifically targets personal computing. Inspired by the BeOS, Haiku is fast, simple to use, easy to learn and yet very powerful.

We need a hadware system that take advantage from contemporary technologies and meets the requirements of a modern desktop system that satisfies common uses at different situations.

Because it has been 20 years since the release we have been looking for a system that has 20 times the performance specifications as well as a much smaller scale than before, a quarter in size and price.

And what we found in the open hardware platform that provides Minnowboard.org with the System Board Computer Minnowboard Max and its ecosystem of Lures that free us to explore different system configurations

You're going to do the blinkenlights, right? You have to do the blinkenlights and the bazillion ports on the back.

Of Course, there is no BeBox without GeekPort! this will be handled with a 12bit ADC coupled with some GPIOs of the 26 pin JP1 port from Minnowboard Max. I'm just about filling up with content the Details Page from this profile. We must not forget that this is a scale model , so there is not much room for many ports as in the original BeBox.
