I have a Jaguar XJ6. She's old, she's beautiful, she's fun. Going to convert everything over to electric. Much research to be done still, but by the end of it, I'm hoping to have her doing the following:
- Reasonably quick off the line. First milestone to be broken would be the cars original 12.6s 0-100Km/h, then 10s, and so on...)
- Top speed of at least 150Km/h however again would like to make (and break!) the original top speed of 192Km/h.
- Able to do a daily commute with sensible driving speeds (~130Km needed, 150+Km ideal) mostly highway K's @ ~110Km/h.
- Minimal external modifications
- Minimal internally visible modifications - Kill switch and Battery Monitor only ideal.
- Lots of high-tech goodies hidden from plain sight (James Bond style)

The steps needed to complete the project (high-level)

- Remove rust and bring car back to full roadworthy condition

- Remove ICE

- Install electric motor

- Install batteries/BMS

- Install motor controller/s

- Connect everything up

- Drive

Of course there's a lot more to it and this page will evolve over time so stay tuned for updates!

  • 1 × WarP 11 Electric Motor Replacement for the ICE
  • 1 × 2nd WarP 11 Electric Motor (Future Addition) These motors can be coupled together to get double to power. While I'm starting with one, eventually I'm going to add a second seeing as there's plenty of room where to old ICE used to be
  • 1 × Motor Controller
  • 1 × Batteries
  • 1 × BMS (Battery Management System)

    I finally have my shed completed. While I don't have all the parts or tools required to do the work, at least I have somewhere to safely store the old girl as I pull her apart to fix all the rust etc that needs to be fixed up before it's roadworthy. Once the overhaul has been completed, I'll also have to take a look at the electrics as I think the current set needs replacement also. Anyway, I'm happy that I can start on this project properly as I was hoping to begin work quite some time ago now.

This looks like a really cool project! I can't wait to see your updates! Check out my EV conversion. I'm doing a 1974 Saab Sonett using an electric smart car motor/controller etc...
