The voltage doesn't matter, go as high as the amplifier can handle.
Feel free to build one for yourself. We have no plans to manufacture Festmaskinen, not even in a small scale.

What provides power? From the pics it looks wireless so if battery powered how long does it last?

The amplifier is powered by a 6 cells LiPo (24V 8Ah), we've never run out of battery (yet), but we estimate that it can play for about 6h. And we have 2 battery-packs, so in theory we could play for 12h.
The light, an DJ-table and the laptop also drains a lot of energy, so that's our limitation.

This looks like a lot of fun. How comfortable is this thing to wear? I'd like to see some more design details, especially on how you power the thing.

It's not that comfortable, it weighs around 35kg fully loaded. I can carry it for about 30 minutes.
Our next version will be lighter and have a more ergonomic design.
