PhiLOCK bluetooth bike lock & share

Friend of mine who's always forgetting his keys asked for a way to unlock his bike, key-less code-less // Arduino, BT, CNC

Similar projects worth following
PhiLOCK is a bike lock designed to work Key-Less with no Code. It just senses the Bluetooth from your smartphone and when it recognizes you it unlocks the cable. From there, if it&apos;s your smartphone, it could be your friend&apos;s and thus enabling sharing your bike. Or it could be someone you want to rent your bike to! We Now have a website <a href="http://WWW.PHILOCK.NET" target="_blank">WWW.PHILOCK.NET</a> (and quite neat shots at <a href="http://www.philock.net/press" target="_blank">www.philock.net/press</a> ) AND a KICKSTARTER Page !! <a href="https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/philock-share/philock" target="_blank">https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/philock-share/philock</a>

One year ago my friend asked me to work on the electronics and mechanics of his lock whose design and casing had been made by a designer friend of him.

I made a proof of concept with the guts of a rc toy, a battery laying around and a small reduction gear .
the lock itself was CNC-Machined out of plexiglass scrap, a few bits of unknown gray plastic, and small chucks of aluminium.

there is a worm gear from a dvd drive that moves a centre piece which pushes locks against the cable.

CNC route for plexiglass milling of the locking mechanism (2 sides of a small enclosure)

Electronics proof of concept. the atmega328 and the bluetooth RS232 TTL HC-05 module are small enough to fit into the metal case. they were controlled in a first place by Ardudroid by Techbitar to enable pin13 to which is attached the motor driver.

  • 1 × Pro Mini atmega328 3.3V
  • 1 × Bluetooth module RS232 TTL HC-05
  • 1 × MPU-6050 Module 3 Axis Gyroscope+Accelerometer
  • 1 × 5V Micro USB 1A 18650 Lithium Battery Charging Board Charger Module
  • 1 × RC TOY radio

It looks good. I hope it will help cyclists to keep their bikes safe. I'll surely add this to my client's guide about bike locks. It may be checked here:
