YOU NEED:

EXPERIMENTAL PROCEDURE:

  • Pour 100 ml distilled water in an Erlenmeyer flask
  • Dissolve 3 g sodium carbonate and 0.2 g luminol
  • Heat the solution until it boils
  • Add 1.3 g Agar
  • Stir solution until Agar is dissolved
  • Let the solution cool down to approx. 80 °C
  • Pour the solution into the casting mold
  • Let the solution cool down for at least 30 minutes
  • Now you can remove the casted fishes from the mold
  • Let them dry a little bit on paper towel

  • Pour 90 ml distilled water in another Erlenmeyer flask
  • Add 10 ml hydrogen peroxide, 11.9%
  • Dissolve 1 g potassium ferricyanide in it
  • Use tweezers to place one of the fishes gently in a vitreous evaporating dish
  • Pour the water/hydrogen peroxide/potassium ferricyanide into the evaporating dish until the fish is completely covered
  • Darken the room completely
  • You should see a green-blueish glowing fish
