Prototype Circuit Board Design

A project log for Active Stabilization Rocket System

Use control systems to control and stabilize a Amateur Rocket

I took the opportunity last night and this morning to go through and design myself a circuit board based on all the pin-outs of my components like my microSD card to SPI board and my GY-87 10DOF board and fit it with my pro-mini that I will be using.

Once I finalize my board design I will post both the board and schematic files here!

Currently this is my design for the circuit board:

On another note: I have published my filtering code on Github!

-Have a nice day!

Hello,

I'm a fan of the project as I might venture into active control as well in my projects down the road.

I wonder, how are you planning to tune the PID system across velocity changes where controls are effective at different amounts depending on the current air stream speed?

Thank you!

Jeff

At this point in the project, I have not considered that to be a major obstruction to the flight control. I believe it would only effect the control of the rocket during the highest altitudes of flight.During, my first few test flights I will be modifying and changing the PID control variables. If I find that there is a problem with stability towards the apogee, what I will likely do is using the data provided by the accelerometer and possibly the barometer and change the PID control settings accordingly. What I have also realized is that during takeoff and where it reaches its highest speeds, the fin controls will have to work less to keep the same attitude. It will be during the first tests of the system where I figure any potential problems like you have presented.

TL;DR: I will figure if it is a problem during the first flight tests of the system.
