Description

I'm not much of a football fan, but when the 50th Super Bowl came around, I thought it would be cool to have the scores displayed on a RGB LED matrix. The data is read from the NFL's data base, using a simple API, which the game status is updated in real time. A Raspberry Pi B+2 both drives the display and retrieves the data from the server. Got it done just in time for the game.
The NFL does provide nearly every single pice of data you would want from a game via their API.

1 × Adafruit RGB LED Matrix, 64x32 6mm
1 × F/M Jumper wires

Well the score board work out quite well.
The score did update as the game was happening, sometimes it would update before the score on the T.V. and sometimes afterwards.
The game segments updated as expected (Pre-game, Halftime, Final, and 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th quarters)
Things to add in the future:
Ball location, what yard it's currently at.
A quarter timer countdown from 15:00, and sync with the clock every few seconds.
