hydrofractal

mini hydroponic bonsai that displays the fractal nature of ......well...nature, no larger than a side table and fully self contained.

Similar projects worth following
(absolute electronoob new to these fun times, and eager to learn) i plan to create a fully self contained miniature soil-less hydroponic bonsai terrarium (florarium?). in which i will grow the plant under l.e.d. lighting on a circular type medium that will allow me to pin down and train the plant into a disc of basic fractal splendour. using an automated hydroponic (see cannabis bubbler/trickle feed (nb: not necessarily gonna be done with weed, just an example of some tech involved.)) setup underneath and an l.e.d. lighting dome for stimulus. all controlled by either my new pi or a simple electronic timer setup (would prefer pi because im new at that too) i hope to do all this with minimal power input via battery & solar or some sort of kinetic charge device t.b.a. later on (somehow rig up a boxers speedball perhaps and get bonus fitness points which i severely lack). i have no idea if its been done before i simply want to do it.
p.s pic obviously unrelated, will ammend.

i have had to put this on the back burner for a while due to it being winter and as i am attempting to do this from as many recycled and salvaged products as possible, not many heat lamps lying around for germination/sapling growth :( may splash out and buy one but the whole unit will be housed in my bedroom and heat lamps are bright, 16-18 hours of that while tring to sleep.....not good. stay tuned.....

after some procrastination, have decided that i have gotten carried away with this idea,. i.e. the fractal portion, as it over complicates something i intended to be simple and actually do-able. now it will be a simple hemi-spherical shrub type growth that will revolve on small motors to allow the use of l.e.d. lights without having to wire 100's together. lets see if it works......

You should get on this. It sounds like it will be a beautiful bit of unnatural nature in your home.

Usually people are willing to help or give advice, so maybe if you outline the steps of the project and the bits you need help with, people will chip in.
