Description

My son was gifted a tin yo-yo the other day. Some of his friends at school have them too. He couldn't make the tinny go, so I told him I would 3D-print him a better one. I really have a problem with making standard status-quo things, so I designed and built him one that looks similar to the Death Star from Star Wars. I can just imagine the chaos in the control room when this thing starts spinning!!

The STL files are on thingiverse http://bit.ly/DSYoYo.

I modified some existing 3D models to suit my purpose and printed them out in silver PLA http://bit.ly/fil-ca on my #Printrbot simple metal.

Cut a section of chopstick and inserted in both halves of the yo-yo shells.

Waxed string with birthday candle and attached to yo-yo.

Spun it up and let it rip!
