This is the Square mirror mount I designed for the DAV5 V3 spctrometer, I think the ray trace came out pretty good.

I really enjoy working with FreeCAD, I worked with it about 2 years ago but it was very unstable and forgot about it until I decided to build my next project entirely by 3D printer and discovered that FreeCAD was updated to v0.16 which has some very stable and very helpful MODs.

 wanted to add real quick, Ha, ha...that would have been very cool to have discovered a Raytracing optics assembly!

I had a similar experience when I tried FreeCAD before - maybe I'll give it another shot, if it has improved that much.

Ha!  When I first read this title, I thought you might have found an optical design type ray-tracer in there somewhere...but it's the rendering type.  Nice image, though.

How do you like FreeCAD overall?
