The hybird pitcher pump idea

A pitcher pump that is scalable and made out of both 3D printed and hardware store stuff.

I have been pondering this one for a long time, and I do not have the CAD skills to pull it off. The idea is to create a pitcher pump, which is a hand operated pump for a shallow well. Think the pumps you see in front of many old farmhouses. Only this one has a 3D printed base, top, and innards, and common hardware store PVC pipe for the body and spout, and threaded rod for the drive rod and a few other misc pieces of machine hardware.

The design is scalable because both the length of the pump can be changed as well as the diameter.

The body and top and bottom can be joined with an adhesive or with 4 pieces of threaded rod running the length of the pump, bolting in at the top and bottom. The spout can be glued on or held in place with small self tapping screws.

A very inexpensive pitcher pump would be very useful to a wide range of people. Many people have water around them they can use for non potable uses but do not use it because they can not move it...
