This project consists of a modular tile based system. Each of the tiles can split a laser at very high speeds into many using a mirror system, thereby allowing for large light installations using parallel lasers at a fraction of the cost, with a resolution of 10x10cm, which can be increased. The mirror system is designed programmatically, and allows for distinct mirror holders to be laser-cut at the appropiate angles, guiding the laser from different orientations into discrete parallel rays. The laser source is guided using a galvanometer scanner, which can scan fast enough for the rays to be simultaneous as percieved by the human eye. A physical prototype might be developed in the future if time (and money) allows.

This was a thesis project for a design engineering degree.
