A project log for Shop Reorganization

Putting my house in order

Here is the rough idea of what I'm hoping to get out of this project.

I have a small CNC router that I built in a previous project. Along with a shop vac, that is used to collect dust from the router.  I would like to build a rolling cart to hold the router and vac along with storage for all the various accessories.  In addition I would like to build this slightly oversized so that I could upgrade the size of the cnc router at some point in time in the future.  I have already picked up a set of larger rails, and need to plan that project out someday.

I have a miter saw and a contractors portable stand for it. I rarely use this because it is buried under the desk and it is a right pain to dig out and setup.  I would like to put this on its own cart, along with a series of drawers for storing tools or screws and such.  I'm contemplating picking up a dedicated shop vac for it as well, but I don't think I will use it enough to justify that expense or space.

I have this nice little bench top band saw. I got this size because it tool up little room and It was light enough for me to move it around the shop. However it would be much handier if this was mounted more permanently in a place where I could easily reach it.  I really like this tool a lot and want it to be front and center in the shop.

I have this nice old drill press that I got from my grandfather.  It is sentimental and I don't want to get rid of it, although it does take up quite a bit of space in the shop.  It would be nice to reclaim some of the space by building a cart or table at the base.

Finally there are lots of little things, like two shelves of electronic parts and screws that need organizing.  A pile of little tools (sanders, skill saw, grinder, etc) as well as this air compressor and some air tools and various miscellaneous pieces like a floor jack that all need organizing.  There are also various piles of wood stashed all over the shop, it would be nice to have a single space to store that as well.
