FDM printing Third attempt : PROGRESS!
04/14/2016 at 16:21 • 0 commentsModified the CAD files after about 4 iterations, the latest ones are available on the dropbox link for this project.
changed to printhead to 0.2mm and printed it in 0.05mm layer height in PLA.
Got an error of 0.01mm-0.02mm which is pretty kickass for FDM. Ive never had the need to push my machine ( a Fracktal Works Julia +) to this limit! the holes and pins required very less post process, to remove slight stringing which was expected.
The cam followers are separated into a different part to make printing on FDM simpler. -
FDM printing second attempt
04/13/2016 at 19:34 • 0 commentsRemoved the cams from the pin-lever arrangement, and printed
it flat on the build surface, instead of an angle as attempted earlier. Better results, the pins can independently move.
I reckon modifying the printer to use a 0.2mm nozzle instead of a 0.4mm nozzle will yield better results. -
