Solution 2 - Edit your Registry
If the above solution, won’t work for you, then here it is suggested to edit your registry.
Follow the steps to do so:
- Hit the Windows Key + R > in the Run box > type regedit > hit Enter > OK
- Now head to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
- Then double-click the ProxySettingsPerUser DWORD and set the value to 1
If in case, the DWORD is not available, then right-click the right window > select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value and name it ProxySettingsPerUser. Then double click on it and set the value to 1.
Well, many users suggest to do the changes in the same location:
- Try changing the ProxyEnable value to 0
- Then change 1 value to 0
- And remove the ProxyOverride key
- Remove ProxyServer key
This worked for many solutions to fix proxy won’t turn off problem.
Solution 3 - Use Settings App
Here it is suggested to use the Settings App, to disable the proxy in Windows 10.
Follow the steps to do so:
- Press Win + I keys to open the Settings app.
- Then in the Settings app > click on Network & Internet.
- Now scroll down > click on Proxy.
- And on the right side > under the Automatic proxy setup section > turn on the Automatically detect settings
- Next, turn off the Use setup script
