Well there can be various reasons to hide or unhide access objects. Suppose you are working on an access database which is created by any other user and you want to know whether there are some hidden queries or tables present in this database. If it is, then how to unhide them.

So this article will help you out to know how you can easily hide and unhide any MS Access objects.

How To Hide A Query In Access?

To hide access database query, the process is almost similar in all MS Access versions Access 97, 2000, XP, 2003, 2007, etc.

Here I will explain you the complete step to hide my “Quarterly Orders by Product” query.

1. Open the Properties window in access database.

Access 2003 user: Go to the Queries pane, make a right click over the query which you want to hide. After that choose the Properties option from the pop-up context menu.

Access 2007 user:

Go to the navigation pane, make a right click over the query that you want to hide. After that select the Object Properties option from the context menu.

2. Go to the properties windows, and put a check mark across Hidden option.

3. Hit the OK button. After completing the whole process you will see that your query is now not appearing in the Queries list.

How To Unhide Query In Access?

2. Make a tap over the View tab and put a check mark across “Hidden objects” which is present within the Show section.

3. Hit the OK button.

4. To see entire list of queries go to the Queries pane. Here you will see that the hidden query starts appearing but it is grey in colour. So if you make a click over the query it won’t open.

5. To enable the query you have to make a right click over the query name and uncheck the Hidden option.

 This will activate your disabled query.

How To Unhide Other MS Access Objects?

In case you need to unhide Access database object then perform the following steps:

1. Hit the Office Button which is present at the top left corner of  your Access window.

2. Hit the button of Access Options present at bottom.

3. Make a tap over the Current Database tab  that is present on the left-side navigation pane.

4. Go to the Current Database tab; hit the button of Navigation Options.

5. Now from the opened Navigation Options window, you have to choose the Show Hidden Objects option from the section of Display Options.

6. Tap to the ok button, this will close the window.

7. Now go to your navigation pane and check your missing object is now appearing or not. If the object is appearing grey in color then it means it is disabled.

8. To enable this you need to make a right click over the object, this will open its properties window. Now uncheck the hidden attribute present within this Properties window.

Conclusion:

Applying the above solution you can easily hide or unhide any of your Access database objects like Reports, Tables, Pages, Macros, Forms, and Modules.
