Hi,

I have just acquired a small motor from an old washing machine, which I am intending to use in building an upright floor mounted sanding machine.

The motor is a Amica AWB510LW Washing Machine Motor, Long brushes. Welling HXGN1L.60

The construction of the frame itself I have no problem with, but the motor seems to be giving me a headache as far as how on earth do I reduce the rotation speed?

This motor currently runs at 17000 rpm, now that's a lot of rpm's and I require around 1200 rpm? (I stand to be corrected here) for an upright belt sander.

Is anyone able to assist me as far as the wiring (to the power source) and speed reduction is concerned as I feel I am at a loss here.

Many thanks,

Mike
