Trees are complex strong structures that we cut into small boring planks: This is a method designed long ago back in the old days when we used to be unable to deal with to much complexity.
Now we can!
Drones explore the forest and analyse the structure of existing branches using 3D scanning
Data are analysed with a “Hyper Contextual Aware Occular Computation” [HCAOC] program, accessible by architects and designer to determine branches (or full trees) that can be used together for specific structural projects.
The contextual awarness means that other contextual element such as a birds nest and the general health of the tree to decide if the branch schould or should not be cut.
Also, machines (or people) cut only needed and identified branches, preserving the trees and forest. This projetc is linked to the Tree Coach and smart forest projects
This video prototype is a very first draft, please contribute with images and technology to build a better video prototype. (I have already some better ones from A Dumenieu thanks! Now I have to integrate them)
Or take it along and build the damn thing! But keep it in the commons
