Join us at the Supplyframe DesignLab for the September Hackaday Los Angeles Meetup, focusing on Assistive Technologies.
From August 22 through October 3rd, the last round of the 2016 Hackaday Prize is celebrating engineers and designers that are helping others move better, see better and live better. We wanted to take that theme and build an event around it, and we’re proud to be co-hosting this event with ABILITY Magazine.
We’ll have two speakers following an introduction by the creator of ABILITY Magazine, Chet Cooper.

Chet Cooper — Founder of ABILITY Magazine
ABILITY Magazine profiles celebrities and features articles on the most recent innovations in assistive technology, disability and human potential. Chet is also the founder of abilityJOBS.com the first career site helping hundreds of thousands of job seekers with disabilities connect with employers and the co-founder of ABILITYCorps.org which is creating a world of inclusion and awareness for people with disabilities, through media, art, music and volunteerism.

Raul Pizarro is a painter with multiple sclerosis. Tony and his team of engineers and makers have built devices to help Raul regain his ability to paint.
“Staying Current and Relevant in the AT Field” presented by RJ Cooper, M.Ed.-ASD
RJ Cooper is a pioneer in the field of Assistive Technology, creating, adapting, and assessing tech for even the most challenged persons. Starting in 1983, he continues to create unique and needed tech, even for individual requests.

Parking
The Design Lab is at 30 E Del Mar Blvd, Pasadena, CA. You probably won't find street parking nearby, but please see this Google map showing the Supplyframe DesignLab location and nearby parking structures:

Public Transportation
Using the Metro Goldline trains is quick and easy. It takes about 20 mins from Union Station in downtown LA to Del Mar Station, which is less than 2 minutes walk from our front door. Trains run about every 10 mins during the day, and 20 mins at night from 11pm-2am.
There are also buses that serve Old Town Pasadena. The nearest intersection is FAIR OAKS/DEL MAR BLVD, PASADENA, CA 91105. You can find timetables or use the Metro Trip Planner at metro.net
