It has been some time since I have updated this project due to being busy with other things in life, but I have not forgotten about it.  I have finished updating the 3D printed enclosure for the smart display.  It took me a little while to figure out the way I wanted to move forward with the enclosure in such a way that it would be rigid and not rely on the LCD to hold it all together.  With this, I decided to add dove tails to the parts so they could press fit into each other for strength after being printed.  I also wanted more structural support for the connections when mounting things like the PCBs and LCD display, so taking that into consideration, I added some heat set inserts to the design to allow for machined screws to mount the LCD and standoffs to mount the PCBs to..  As of right now, I left the back open for testing purposes, but I intend to print covers which will have holes for mounting to a VESA mount, allowing for wall mounted capabilities.

There are a lot of improvements I want to complete for any future versions, but this is a good start to show that it is possible to create a smart display capable of running Android at home.
