This little Rotating Display Stand from amazon was only $7! I transformed it into an rotating mount for a GoPro. The rotation speed is also adjustable so you can get the best time lapse possible thanks to the NodeMCU wifi.

A Friend of a friend was going on a trip to Antarctica and was looking for a way to take 360 degree photos with his GoPro to create a Time Lapse video. Because I'm always looking for a way to create content for my YouTube channel, I said I'll make the panoramic mount if you can get me video from Antarctica using the mount.

My only concern with this was the extreme temperatures in Antarctica. Turns out the 1200mah battery I supplied out lasted the GoPro batteries by a long shot. He said next time he goes, he will have a little coat for the GoPro so the batteries last longer.

The mount was a cheap jewelry 360 display I bought on amazon. It was perfect because it included solar panels and had legs that could be set into the snow. The mount was only $7! The exact one I bought isn't available anymore but here is a similar one.

From there I bought a little stepper motor with controller on ebay for about $10.

"2pcs DC 5V Stepper Motor 28BYJ-48 + ULN2003 Driver"

I smooshed all these parts into the mount and it seems to work pretty well. To save power, I turn the Wifi off on the NodeMCU after 1 minute. Which is enough time to select the rotation speed you would like from your phone.

Watch the video and let me know what you think. Thanks!
