Description

The Surf Window is an internet connected 3D picture made from a variety of laser cut woods, LED's, motors and a micro controller (in the case an Arduino mega). It moves and lights up to display realtime surf and weather conditions for any beach featured in magicseaweed's api.

The following information is displayed by the Surf Window: wave height, tide, wind strength and direction, swell period, sun/rain and the star rating of the surf. You can also high five the octopus and it'll show you conditions for an alternative beach.

Details

Components

  • 1 × MEGA+WiFi R3
  • 1 × Adafruit NeoPixel Ring
  • 1 × Adafruit Bi-colour LED Square Pixel Matrix
  • 1 × Adafruit NeoPixel Stick

I like this a lot! I can see the same motif used for a general weather display, or maybe even a traffic check before heading out to work. Nice job!
