Robotics quasi-direct drive LINEAR ACTUATOR actuator qdd openbuilds linear rail

This project was created on 02/04/2021 and last updated 3 years ago.

Description

Most linear actuators use a screw drive. This makes them not back-drive-able, and not as useful for quasi-direct drives. I wanted to see if a cable driven carriage would work for my project.

Components

  • 1 × OpenBuilds Linear Rails
  • 4 × OpenBuilds V-Wheels
  • 4 × OpenBuilds Eccentric Spacers
  • 4 × Aluminum Spacers M5 ID 6mm length
  • 1 × 3/4" angle bar about 6"
