August 13, 2017 - Antique radio parts need a home

A project log for The Cardboard Computer - IO is my name

My goal is a 4-bit CPU using recycled cardboard substrate and Diode Transistor Logic. This is an educational platform for me.

This is all of whats left of my antique radio collection. These parts need a home and I will give them up for FREE. I have tried contacting the local AWA clubs but no takers. The central radio receiver is a modern build with vintage parts. I would rather not ship so if anyone is visiting the south east NC coast then come on by and  the parts are yours :-) I will be in SC for the eclipse on the coast and can have them with me.

I'd be at least mildly interested... I'm no ham, but I love old tech ;) and that stuff definitely fits the bill.

Hey there, The stuff is intended for the long and medium waves so the a.m. broadcast band is the intended target :-) The 199 tube in the receiver does not light up but these tubes can still be found for sale. Otherwise these parts make a good display of old tech from long ago.

I'm *extremely* interested in the variable transformer with the pivoting winding... I forget the proper term for such devices but I hear they can be used as voltage regulators, to some extent. By and large I'm not experienced enough to recognize what the rest of the equipment even is... sadly...
