Among finding out that Sam, the guy from Trifoil imaging who has been helping me is leaving, and printing out the service manuals in about a thousand sheets of paper, I took a look inside the left access panel. It turned out to be surprisingly easy, except for cutting myself on one of those damn razor sharp security screws again.
Hopefully there's an easy way to check on the shutter which still doesn't work, and enable manual control of the tube so I can try a lower voltage. Todo: open hatch on right side, as well as main case. Clean and grease everything. Also, install the hard drive backup they gave me into a physical disk.
