After a disastrous couple of years in a Malaga parking lot where the rain and rats ruined the whole car inside and out but luckily as it is GRP the bodywork was untouched, I decided to rebuild it , that was ten years and 8K€ ago but it is finally coming to fruition, slowly.

To say it has been a 'learning curve' would be an understatement and although I have been a motorcycle mechanic for over half a century, (shit, that sounds old) I still needed to learn new stuff (or in some cases, re-learn) especially interior trim, GRP and paint

The basic was on a 1966 VW T1 chassis that had a 1300cc air cooled engine, this was replaced by a T2 1600 dual port engine when I originally built the car in 1995 and since then up graded to a stage three 1641,cc twin DellOrto carburettors with the only standard part remaining being the crankcase and distributor drive shaft.

The interior has undergone a complete rip out and redesign with new seats, carpets and trim with a custom made dash and centre console. All new electronics including actuators for the gull wing doors and radio (433Mhz) remotes for those and the hundreds of LED display lights.

Many custom hand made or modified parts including the side repeaters, headlight lifter, dual carburettor cables system and the pedals.

Gear-shift and hand brake are, in keeping with many other parts, from other cars such as Triumph, Skoda, Volvo, Opal/GM and VAG.
