Have you ever had CCTV cameras installed but rarely monitored them until an incident occurred? It's frustrating that cameras are often viewed as tools for post-incident analysis rather than proactive surveillance.

I have a standard Hikvision CCTV camera installed at home. For those unfamiliar, Hikvision is a popular brand, especially in India. Instead of disrupting the existing setup (and risking my mom's ire), I'm exploring a solution to remotely access the CCTV feed and stream it to a Raspberry Pi.

Once connected, the Raspberry Pi can leverage OpenCV for image recognition and other tasks. This setup enables real-time monitoring and analysis, allowing for automated responses such as controlling lights or sending warning messages. Essentially, it turns your CCTV system into a smart surveillance solution.

Excited to share the project on Hackaday and get feedback
