Sorry, finding a browser that can add text to this site is a challange.

Please leave comments on your thoughts, I'm working on the firmware to control the power supply, This firmware will take in data from the encoders on the front, the sensors in the converter modules, and control the setpoints for the converters and do the serial communication via usb.

My encoders have a push button, it would seem to make sense to use this to change the granularity that it adjusts settings.

Origionally I was thinking it would toggle the step size, but now I'm thinking it makes more sense to have it do larger adjustment steps when held in. For example, each detent may be .05V by default or .5V if you hold the knob in when you turn it.

The idea is to allow quick adjustments, while not losing the ability to make fine adjustments.

It would seem that, if its gonna toggle, a person needs some kinda feedback to indicate what the current step size is.

If you have comments regarding your experiances with digital knobs, do tell!
