I'm Talking on Sunshine

Solar-powered charging station for 9 cell-phones at once. Learn here how to build the solar panel and the charging station

I've been going to a lot of music festivals the last few years. It's a bit annoying (for some people) that after a day your smartphone is not working anymore. Some people bring with them a power bank and charge their phones. That's a great solution but it is not very social, everyone always want to keep the energy for themselves. That's when I started thinking about building a solar station for charging many phones at once.

The project has two parts

1. Building the solar panel:

2. Building the charging station:

Fun project. I thought the final picture of the bottle charger station in your blog post ( http://www.whatimade.today/content/images/2014/12/2014-05-17-11-34-46.jpg ) was a little clearer than the one used in your gallery... but ultimately I understood. Good luck!

I enjoyed your project. You have recycled bottles to storage the phones while they charge, and that's a way of collaborating with the enviroment. It's a good idea to use in a camp, also you can earn some money. I would prefer if it were for free hehe.

Thanks! Actually you reminded me some important detail I forgot to mention! The first festival I brought it to had its own charging station which was powered by a generator and cost money! So I put my charging station in the camping site for free! :) I never really ment to take money for that but during this festival I understood how right I was...
