Yesterday I considered using one of the boards with a VCTCXO just to see if the extra $10 for a VCOCXO bought anything.

I haven't run that test yet, but I am beginning to think that the answer to that may be that it does not.

Looking at the DOT050V and DOC020V datasheets, both claim a short-term stability of 1 ppb (1.0E-9/s). Well, short term stability is all we really want to count on from the oscillator. Long term stability is going to be tied to GPS, after all.

Maybe that extra $10 and all the power supply hassles are for nothing.
