Now that the frame is strong enough to support the entire robot on three legs, we can use a tripod gait instead of the slower wave / ripple gaits.  Just finished the code now... suffice it to say my son is very happy with it!  The speed has easily doubled, and I would think probably tripled.  The long legs give it a very interesting appearance; different from other hexapods which I have seen.
